Has the constant rain over winter disrupted your children's sporting activities? Want to get them out of the house? Why not try the most popular summer sport in the country, Cricket. There are programs for all ages and skill levels, for boys, girls and adults.
At Illawong Menai we have a long and proud history of delivery all possible cricket programs to the 2234 postcode and beyond. We are also quite proud of a couple of the local boys who have gone on to represent their country, including
Jason Gillespie, Steven Smith, and the most recent addition Nathan Ellis.
Ages 5-7
Cricket Blast Skills
Introduces young children to the basic skills of cricket: catching, throwing and teamwork. Make new friends or organise a group to learn together. All equipment supplied. Registration includes a kit with bat, ball, hat and shirt. The program runs on Friday afternoons during Term 4 at Coachwood Oval Alfords Point.

Ages 7-10
Cricket Blast Competition
No experience necessary. All games played at Kareela Oval on a Saturday morning. Make new friends or organise a group to play together, perfect for junior soccer teams to give cricket a go. All equipment supplied. Group training run by club coaches is included, to help continue developing skills.
If you have previously completed a Junior Blaster program then its time to step up to Cricket Blast Competition.

Girls Ages 8-15
Girls Only Competition
Its not all about the boys! Girls if your interested in playing come and join the girls only comp. All games played in the same location each week, in the shire, on a Saturday morning. Small teams so get your friends together to form a team.
No experience necessary.

Your never too old to pick up the bat or ball again, or for the first time. We have teams at all skill levels. Games are played in the Sutherland Shire on Saturday afternoons. It is a very social atmosphere, anyone is welcome to join a team. If your interested but not quite sure, reach out here, or come along to Casuarina Oval, Alfords Point on Sunday afternoons from 2pm to meet some of the guys.
Sunday T20 comp is also available, with matches on Sundays between Sep and Dec 2023, enquire here.

Boys Ages 8-18
Junior Boys
Takes less time than you think. Games are all short format, one day games, where everyone gets a bat and a bowl each week.
Registration includes a free one on one training session with the clubs head coach, and representative coach, Rod Whatley.
Beginners or experienced players welcome, we cater for all skill levels. The coaching program certainly helps to develop all your cricket skills to take your game to the next level.
